We would always recommend that you use a trivet or pan stand, however Quartek Stone Surfaces will withstand a moderate heat from a warm pan, dish or hot drink, unlike laminate or wood.
The cool hard surface loves pastry! Roll out directly onto the surface with ease, then easily wipe down with minimum effort.
You do not have to worry about any food or drink spillages on your surface. All Quartek Stone Surfaces are sealed and are non-porous, meaning any accidents will not ruin your beautiful work surface. However, we would always recommend wiping any spillages up immediately as dried on stains can be diffcult to remove.
The cool non-porous Quartek Stone Surface does not absorb any dirt, food or drink and does not foster bacteria or transfer them to anything that touches the surface.
It is advisable to chop your food on a cutting mat, however if your knife did happen to slip, the Quartek Stone Surface would be unlikely to be damaged. Quartek Stone Surfaces are harder and more durable than Granite, also resisting chipping and warping.
